Shanti Yoga™ addresses three essential fitness concerns by:

Shanti Yoga™ promotes the awakening of prana. Prana is the life force within all beings and is the power behind all movement in creation. It is neither seen nor unseen, yet it can be systematically awakened through yogic methods. Using classic asanas, pranayama, meditation and relaxation practices, Shanti Yoga™ increases awareness of body, breath and mind, encouraging natural alignment.


Off the mat, this holistic approach to life encourages increased awareness and natural alignment of our thoughts, words, feelings and actions, making for optimal living. By emphasising the mechanics of yoga (form, flow, fuel) as well as the inner, spiritual dimensions of yoga practice, you are encouraged to honour the wisdom of the body and to work in accord with its strengths and limitations. Rebecca Sinclair is the teacher at City Yoga Studio and she has been involved with Yoga for over 20 years. She has been training with Shanti Gowan's since 2007. She has completed Yoga Education Cert 4, Diploma of Yoga Teaching and is currently studying her Advanced Diploma in Yoga with Shanti Gowans. Her previous corporate work experience has allowed her to realise the need for maintaining a balanced and holistic approach to modern life.
